The Best Kosher Restaurants in Miami

Surfside, Aventura, and Miami Beach — your guide to South Florida's thriving kosher food scene.

Miami's kosher food scene has exploded in the last decade. What used to be a handful of delis and pizza shops has become one of the most exciting kosher dining destinations in the country. Between Surfside, Aventura, North Miami Beach, and Miami Beach, you'll find everything from Argentine steakhouses to Japanese ramen to fresh Mediterranean bowls — all under reliable kosher supervision.

Whether you live here, you're visiting for vacation, or you're one of the thousands who come down for Pesach, here's where to eat.

Surfside: The Kosher Capital of South Florida

Surfside is a small beachside town just north of Miami Beach, and it's become the undisputed center of kosher dining in South Florida. Harding Avenue is basically a kosher food crawl waiting to happen.

Backyard BBQ & Brew — Casual outdoor vibes with solid barbecue. Brisket sandwiches, smoked wings, cold beer. Perfect for a laid-back lunch after the beach. The picnic-table seating and string lights give it a backyard-party feel. Harbour Grill — Upscale steakhouse with a great wine list. This is where you go for a nice dinner out. The ribeye is excellent, and the appetizers — especially the lamb chops — are worth ordering every time. Rustiko — Israeli-Mediterranean in a cozy setting. Their shakshuka is one of the best in Miami, and the grilled meats are consistently on point. Good for families, good for date night, good for pretty much any occasion. Serendipity Yogurt & Ice Cream — Because you need dessert. Frozen yogurt, ice cream, milkshakes, and toppings galore. A Surfside staple, especially on hot summer nights (which is most nights). Cine Citta Caffe — Dairy Italian restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and cappuccinos that actually taste like you're in Italy. One of the best dairy restaurants in the area. Pita Hut Grill — Quick, delicious, affordable. Their shawarma and falafel are the real deal. When you want something fast and satisfying, this is the move.

Aventura: Mall-Adjacent and Beyond

Aventura, home to one of the biggest malls in America, also happens to have a thriving kosher food scene that goes way beyond the food court.

Fuego by Mana — Latin-kosher fusion that's become a local favorite. The empanadas, churrasco, and chimichurri sauce are outstanding. The restaurant has a fun, energetic vibe that makes dinner feel like an event. Kosh — Modern kosher restaurant with a creative menu. They do everything from sushi to burgers to pasta, and they do it all well. Great for groups where everyone wants something different. Mister O1 — Upscale pizza that takes the art of pie-making seriously. Star-shaped pizzas, creative toppings, and a cool atmosphere. It's dairy, and it's worth the trip. Hunan Wok — When you're craving Chinese food, this is the spot. Sesame chicken, lo mein, fried rice — all the classics, done kosher and done well. A reliable go-to for takeout.

North Miami Beach: The Local Scene

NMB is where a lot of the community actually lives, and the restaurants here reflect that — less tourist-oriented, more neighborhood-focused.

Bimi's Bistro — A community favorite for decades. American-Israeli menu with generous portions. The chicken cutlet and fries plate is comfort food at its finest. China Bistro — Kosher Chinese that the locals swear by. The crispy beef and General Tso's chicken are go-to orders. It's not fancy, but it's consistent and satisfying. Levy's Bakery — Fresh challah, rugelach, danishes, and cakes. An essential Friday morning stop for anyone doing Shabbat prep in the area.

Miami Beach: Collins Avenue and Beyond

South Beach isn't really known for kosher food, but as you go further north on Miami Beach, the options open up.

26 Sushi & Tapas — One of the most popular kosher sushi restaurants in South Florida. Creative rolls, fresh fish, and a trendy atmosphere. The 26th Street location is always buzzing. Fresko — Fresh, healthy, Mediterranean-style bowls and plates. Grilled fish, quinoa salads, and smoothies. Perfect for when you want something light after a day at the beach. Rare Bistro — Meat restaurant with an upscale-casual feel. Good steaks, creative appetizers, and a solid bar menu. A nice option for a night out on the Beach.

The Pesach Scene

Let's be real — a huge part of Miami's kosher food identity is tied to Passover. Every spring, thousands of families flood South Florida for Pesach programs, and the restaurant scene adapts accordingly.

  • Many restaurants offer special Pesach menus with kitniyot and non-kitniyot options
  • Pop-up restaurants appear in hotels and event spaces all over Surfside and Miami Beach
  • Supermarkets like Winn-Dixie in Surfside and Publix in Aventura stock massive Pesach sections
  • If you're spending Pesach in Miami, book your restaurant reservations early — popular spots fill up fast

Practical Tips

  • Kosher Miami Vaad (KMV) is the primary certifying agency in the area. Look for their symbol.
  • Beach + restaurant combos — many Surfside restaurants are a short walk from the beach. Plan your day around it.
  • Parking — Surfside street parking can be tough, especially on weekends. Aventura is generally easier.
  • Hours — like everywhere else, kosher restaurants close for Shabbat. Friday lunch is usually the last meal before they close, and Saturday night reopening times vary by season.
  • Outdoor seating — many Miami kosher restaurants have great patio options. Take advantage of the weather.
