About Kosher Connect

We got tired of asking the group chat too.

Kosher Connect is the Jewish community hub. One map of every verified kosher restaurant, bakery, butcher, and grocery in the country, with the hechsher on every listing and the hours that actually hold.

Our Story

It started the way it always starts.

You land in a new city and want dinner. You google it and get a Yelp page for a place that closed two years ago, a blog post from 2019, and a map pin with no hechsher in sight. So you ask the WhatsApp group, and someone sends a PDF.

The team kept living that night on repeat. There had to be one place where every kosher spot is verified and current. Where you can see what is open right now and who certifies it. Where the calendar knows when candles are lit before you do, and planning a simcha does not mean calling thirty vendors.

So we built Kosher Connect. Not a directory, a community hub. The map shows you what is nearby, the calendar shows you what is coming, and every listing carries the agency that certified it.

Today Kosher Connect covers 208+ cities across the United States, from Brooklyn, Lakewood, and Teaneck to the smaller communities in Charleston, Salt Lake City, and Honolulu. Every city with a Jewish community deserves a map like this, and we add more every week.

Verified before going live

Nothing goes on the map until it clears the check.

Step one

Certification, confirmed.

Every listing names its supervising agency. OU, OK, Star-K, cRc, Kof-K, RCC, local vaadim. If we cannot confirm who certifies a spot, it does not go on the map.

Step two

Hours that hold up.

Erev Shabbos early closes. Yom Tov schedules. The takeout that stops answering at 4pm on Friday. We track the hours the community actually keeps, not the ones a scraper found.

Step three

Updates, reviewed.

Owner claims, community corrections, new openings. Every change is reviewed before it publishes. When you see it on Kosher Connect, someone checked it first.

What We Stand For

Three things we will not bend on.

01

Hechsher first.

Different families hold by different standards. The whole product is built around that. Filter by your hechsher. Surface Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel, glatt. The supervising agency is on every restaurant page, every time.

02

Inclusive by design.

Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Mizrachi, observant, exploring, or somewhere in between. The map does not gatekeep. You pick the standard you hold by, and the app respects it without commentary.

03

Built with the community.

Listings come from the community. Owners claim their own restaurants. Corrections come from the people who actually ate there last week. The roadmap follows what you ask for.

Our Mission

Jewish life, more accessible, more connected, more joyful.

Everything you need in one place, and a table with room for everyone. When it is easy to find a kosher restaurant, join a Shabbos meal, or show up to a community event, Jewish life gets stronger. That is the whole thesis.

There is a seat for you.

Explore the map, claim your restaurant, or join the founding cohort while spots are still open.
